In all we do at Boys Town to help children and families, we are focused on the same goal - teaching children the skills needed to be successful, independent adults who know love of family, country, God and self.
Benefits of Being a Family-Teacher at Boys Town
For nearly 90 years, Boys Town has put its research to the test, adapting and providing the best direct, hands-on care to abused, abandoned and neglected children. We have marched to the forefront of child-care by teaching children and families life skills; bringing strength back to family values; echoing the importance of responsibility and accountability; and turning to spiritual and moral values to guide us through the challenges we face.
We rely on our dedicated staff and you as a prospective employee to meet the many opportunities available to work with our youth. This may be through direct involvement in a youth treatment position or as support staff for our many programs.
At sites in 14 states across the country we cared for a record number of girls and boys - 47,170 - in 2006 through direct care programs and more than 1 million children and families through our National Hotline, outreach and training programs.
Boys Town is building on our children's successes to help give more children a chance to live happy and healthy lives. The children who come to us are no different from any other child; they have the same possibilities and same dreams. The abused and neglected children of America need your help to become good citizens. Through your modeling of appropriate behavior and involvement in teaching that behavior, this may happen.
