Our Vision:
Nevada’s beacon of healing and hope, strengthening children and families through life-changing care.
Because of the existing continuum of services that Boys Town Nevada already provides for children and families in Clark County, we have established the necessary framework to expand upon our current programs and fill in the remaining gaps of service. Our overall goal from prevention to placement is to increase our quality-valued programs and to serve more families and children than in prior years.
This year in 2008, we are eager to expand our In-Home Family Services in a number of possible areas;
-
To support and strengthen families involved in Juvenile Court Services,
-
To provide Clinical Family Services utilizing LCSWs or MFTs,
-
To offer In-Home services for families of the Clark County School District,
-
To further expand our proven existing (since 2005) Family Services to the Department of Family Services.
We have specific plans and funding support to add additional homes on our campus of Treatment Family Homes,
-
A sibling home to keep brothers and sisters together rather than allowing them to be split up and separated in to various foster homes,
-
Another Treatment Family Home on Boys Town's existing Northwest Las Vegas campus that would provide permanency, safety and quality treatment for abandoned abused and neglected children,
-
Based on future needs, we have plans to add more Treatment Family Homes and a school as the funding becomes available.
We are looking for opportunities to expand our trademarked Common Sense Parenting program to help develop stronger more effective families,
-
To increase the classes offered at no charge to families involved with our Treatment Family Homes and Intervention and Assessment Center,
-
To expand our collaboration with other agencies similar to our relationship with the Shade Tree Shelter, providing parenting classes for all their residents,
-
To connect with local Churches and assist them in building stronger, healthier, and more effective families.
We are eager to maximize the high quality 24-hour care we provide through our Assessment and Short-Term Residential Center with a variety of services including,
-
Our Behavioral Network supervised by a Medical Director offers a 10 day placement with a clinical, educational, therapeutic records review, and behavioral assessment for a youth/family and concludes with treatment recommendations,
-
To provide respite services for families dealing with children who exhibit difficult behavior patterns,
-
To provide stabilizing services after a family or foster care crisis, providing a safe, temporary placement for boys or girls (ages 10 to 18) until a permanent placement can be found,
-
To increase clinical assessment services as an alternative to psychiatric hospital placement unless it is absolutely necessary for a youth's safety.
As soon as possible, we are eager to offer to Nevada the nationally recognized Boys Town Treatment Foster Care Program,
-
To expand the continuum of care to include youth who would be better served in a treatment foster care program versus a married couple's own home,
-
To provide treatment to youth who would benefit from a smaller ratio, more individualized attention, or require more specialized care.
To expand the numbers of families and children utilizing our Behavioral Network to reach the treatment help they deserve and need,
-
To inform and work with local Pediatricians on how our behavior network and assessment services (via the Intervention and Assessment Center) could be a huge benefit to families and children struggling with behavioral issues,
-
To educate the community more directly on how our services can assist both agencies and families to find treatment solutions to the numerous behavior problems families and children experience through utilizing the Network treatment team.
-
To educate local middle and high schools on how our specialized assessment and network services can assist them with behavioral and clinical treatment solutions to the problems a youth may be experiencing in school.
