More than 600 guests herded together for the 4th annual Boys Town Nevada Journey of Hope Gala May 8 at the Las Vegas Hilton. The memorable Western-themed denim and diamonds evening generated thousands of dollars to help severely at-risk, abused, abandoned and neglected youth in Nevada.

Boys Town Nevada youth experienced a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity walking around the 1½ mile Las Vegas Motor Speedway track with NASCAR star Kyle Busch. The NASCAR Foundation Track Walk on March 2 raised $45,000 for the NASCAR Foundation, Speedway Children’s Charities and the Kyle Busch Foundation, which will disperse funds to Boys Town Nevada.

In a ceremony at the Las Vegas Country Club, former U.S. Senator Richard Bryan inducted four new members into Boys Town Nevada’s Board of Directors.

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver and Las Vegas native Kyle Busch and the Kyle Busch Foundation join the efforts to support Boys Town Nevada during 2008 Track Walk.

Boys Town earned its third consecutive recognition as one of the 100 Best Communities for Young People by the America’s Promise Alliance.

Balloons and two giant cakes helped create a festive atmosphere for the 90th Anniversary event at Boys Town Nevada. “I couldn’t even carry one of the cakes,” laughed Erika Christensen, Development Specialist.

Recognized as an exceptional steward of its resources, Boys Town Nevada was named Outstanding Charity of the Year by the Nevada Community Foundation.

The WCC’s Public Project was developed by members of the WCC’s Executive Committee in cooperation with the UNLV chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects and employees from the Southern Nevada Water Authority.

Supporters and fashion trendsetters went Shopping for Hope to raise money for the children of Boys Town of Nevada.

A $350,000 grant by the 2007 Nevada Women’s Philanthropy will help Boys Town Nevada care for more of Nevada’s abused, abandoned and neglected children, and grow its continuum of care by building two new homes for at-risk youth.

A personal invitation by the producer of a new highly acclaimed movie allowed Boys Town Nevada to share in the message of hope brought by, “Bella.”

Volunteers taught an invaluable lesson to Boys Town children, by donating their hearts, labor, time and talents.

A special event Oct. 20 carved smiles on the faces of Boys Town Nevada children and families…and their pumpkins.

The anxious children at Boys Town Nevada sat around the tiny “stable” and watched as Thumbelina, the world’s smallest horse, stared back at them. She’d traveled a long way to make them smile.

Call it a fashion show with a compassionate twist.
