Supporters and fashion trendsetters went Shopping for Hope Nov. 13 to raise money for the children of Boys Town Nevada.
The second annual event at St. John’s Boutique on the second floor of Saks Fifth Avenue in the Fashion Show Mall was a celebration of hope and awareness for everyone in attendance. Guests were allowed to shop the entire store, with a portion of the proceeds from purchased items going directly to programs supporting Boys Town Nevada children.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for our supporters to get a head start on some holiday shopping, while benefiting a great organization,” said Tom Waite, Boys Town Nevada Executive Director.

The crowd enjoyed upscale ambiance and exquisite hors d’oeuvres as they shopped. Couture baskets valued at more than $400 were displayed for purchase as a three piece jazz ensemble played holiday songs. The event, coordinated by Winnie Schulman, Boys Town Nevada Board Member, helped shoppers prepare for the holiday season.
“People have to shop for holidays,” said Schulman. “With the generosity of Saks Fifth Avenue, supporters can buy gifts and make a difference at the same time.”
During the evening, guests could also purchase raffle tickets to win a delicious assortment of holiday cookies, valued at $425. Larry Finuf, Boys Town Nevada Board Member, was the lucky winner of the beautiful Christmas arrangement. The raffle alone raised nearly $800.
In addition to fun, food and festivities, all attendees received program information about the mission and vision of Boys Town. The attendees left knowing that, through their purchases, they contributed to bringing help and hope to neglected and abandoned children in Las Vegas.
