Boys Town Nevada Youth Walk with NASCAR Star Kyle Busch

NASCAR driver Kyle Busch spends time with Boys Town Nevada youth during the inaugural NASCAR Foundation Track Walk at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

It wasn’t your usual walk around the park.

For Boys Town Nevada youth it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience walking around the 1½ mile Las Vegas Motor Speedway track with NASCAR star Kyle Busch. The NASCAR Foundation Track Walk on March 2 raised $45,000 for the NASCAR Foundation, Speedway Children’s Charities and the Kyle Busch Foundation, which will disperse funds to Boys Town Nevada.

"I am very excited about being a part of the NASCAR Foundation Track Walk here in Las Vegas," said Busch, a Las Vegas native beginning his fifth NASCAR season. "I always thought it was a unique event that benefits worthy causes like Boys Town Nevada and I am proud to be able to help give something back to my hometown."

Tom Waite, Boys Town Nevada Executive Director, thanks Kyle Busch, NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver, for partnering with the site to help Save Children and Heal Families in Nevada.
“It’s such an honor for Boys Town Nevada to be associated with a huge NASCAR star like Kyle Busch,” said Tom Waite, Boys Town Nevada Executive Director. “It’s amazing that at his age (22) he’s concerned not only with racing, but with making a difference in the lives of less fortunate youth. In the eyes of our kids, he’s a hero.”

This inaugural walk provided the youth the opportunity to get to know the NASCAR driver. Busch walked amongst the children, answering questions while autographing hats, shirts and even toy race cars.

“Kyle signed my hat and shirt,” said Taylor, a 15-year-old Boys Town Nevada Youth. “I can’t believe that I actually got the chance to meet him.  He’s just a really nice guy.”

This Track Walk is part of a partnership Busch has with Boys Town Nevada, which was announced in January. After the walk, Kyle Busch finished 11th in the UAW-Dodge 400, moving him up to second place in the Sprint Cup standings.
